"i'm just a typical girl that wishes to be different from any other girls out there, but i'm no different from them. typical, as i said earlier. i'm a girl that loves art, not engineering. i will choose to eat an ice cream and sit on the bench rather than playing sports. i prefer sewing over jungle trekking. i will choose to spend money on clothes, not some pricey computing devices such as the 1Terabytes hard drive (i don't even need a hard drive with space that big though), i also prefer to watch katy perry live on x factor singing the one that got away acoustic version rather than google-ing on how to do coding for my final year project.

but hey, i'm so glad that i'm me. i'm glad that i have amazing people around me that makes my life complete. and for that, i thank Allah (:"

as salam pretty people (: how's your day? mine is just like any other typical sunday, but at least i did something fun today, which is crafting :D well, despite the three tests i'm going to sit for this upcoming week.

there's not much story that i can tell, i just wanna share the photos of some of my collections (:

these are some of my accessories collections. but normally i wouldn't wear them, so yeah, they're for display only haha. but i love all of them as they have their own unique design and sentimental value (:some of them were gifts from family and friends, and that's why they're really special to me (:

these are my three holgas :D my favourite multicolored holga 120gcfn, which was the winning prize for a contest that i joined a few months ago. and next to it is the yummy yellow holga k200nm/fel that i bought last year, if i'm not mistaken and those tiny little holga is the holga micro 110 which i bought few weeks ago at the threadszoo bazaar for only rm4 :D but yeah, the film is really hard to find so i guess it'll be for display, and used for photography props only haha. i only have these three holgas, and a digital camera. i rarely use them, the last time i used my yellow holga was like a year ago and the film is not yet developed and yes, sue me for being such a lazyslowpoke. :D

as salam awesome ppl :D i'm having a test at 8pm but i'm too lazy to study so i update my blog tehee ;p last weekend was kinda busy for me. i attended the chic pop street market 10 last saturday and missed the pipit wonderful market (how sad). anyways, i met a lot of cool ppl there. here are some of the pictures taken at the event.

oh that's me, getting all excited when other vendors gave us free macarons. yay!

not only that i get free macarons, i also met the one i admire so so so much in the entire world!

yuna! yes yuna! i still can't believe it until now! hihihi.

as salam pretty people (: how's life treating you guys? i hope everything went just well (: life have been pretty hectic lately. i've tonnes of assignments and projects and yes, bazaars to attend!

so last saturday, i attended the most awesome vintage bazaar i've ever been to, the kuala lumpur vintage bazaar. it was actually inspired by the london vintage bazaar, so it was quite anticipating (: and the event turned out to be so awesome that i hope it happens every week ;p okay, sorry for exaggerating.

i was so excited about the event, i even sew myself a new chiffon crop top ;p and i was so happy that at least 5 people complimented my selfmade top (thanks a bunch!)

as salam people and happy eid ul fitr to everyone! after a month of hiatus (hiatus la sangaatt) finally, an entry! ;p here are some of the pictures taken during the first raya (:

this is kind of my family portrait. my ayah and mak, and my other 10 siblings, complete (: our color theme for raya this year is chocolate gold, which, my sister and i thought that our selection of the color chocolate is too, urmm, dark? and dull, that the color doesn't look like what we had imagined before. and we had already chose the color for our outfits for the next raya!

the portrait of the ladies in the family. the one who was sitting in front is my sister-in-law, kak zura. and oh have i mentioned that i'm now an aunt to qistina azra? yes yes, that baby in the picture is my cute little niece (: i swear to you she's the cutest baby i've ever seen ;p and the little kid wearing kurung cotton is my cousin. she celebrated raya with us as her mom, which is my maksu, delivered her newborn baby on the day before raya. eh i think my description is a little bit twined up, don't you think? haha

as salam peeps. i've neglected my dear bloggie lately ey? july almost ends, and yet i only updated one entry for this month.

anyway, i attended rock the youth, which was held at Kompleks 3K Subang Jaya. the event was quite okay, i think i'll enjoy more if i was the visitor, not the vendor. hihi. i met miss wani ardy. she sang two beautiful songs of hers. and she visited my booth, too! yay for kak wani!

okay back to the main topic. i was meant to share with you guys my new craze (: which is beading! during my intersession (short semester) i worked at a bead shop as shop assistant, and i was given the opportunity to learn some of the beading techniques. i don't wanna sew the beads on baju kurung, it's so last year ;p so i came up with something err, different, i hope.

tadaaa! eh do you guys know what that is? hihi. that's a beaded high heels brooch which i made with love last few days. it's not that pretty though. i'll make another one, better than this, insyaAllah (:

as salam people (: it has been a while eh, since i last updated my blog. i'm home, unemployed and i've limited internet connectivity.so that explains everything right? this few days i accompanied my kaklang just anywhere for her job application.i pray for her to get a job very soon. amin (: so yesterday i accompanied her again, and on our way back home, we visited the very seremban craft gallery.

there were so many craft stuffs being displayed. furniture, piggy banks, scarves, decorative items, bags and cases made of rattan, screwpine leaves (mengkuang), bamboo, ceramics, you can find it all here. they made me amazed, really, because i know it is not easy for someone to make those stuffs. they'll need skills and knowledge and experience and talent. i wish i could make those stuffs, too. someday, maybe (:

as salam people. so just now i went to the chic pop street market 8 and threadszoo's krusty market with love. i went to the chic pop street market first as i heard that early birds will stand a chance to grab free stuffs. and yeah we do got free swags and free wall's ice cream (: and as usual, the chic pop street market was full of people, i can barely breathe among those crowds. and did you know that this time it wasn't just chic pop street market alone, it was a three in one bazaar which combined chic pop, crafty market and bettr weekend (: oh i think i love crafty art market more than any other bazaar. the stuffs on sale were so irresistible i can't help myself from buying some cotton clothes which insyaAllah will be used for my handmade project hehe.

as salam people. this is another late update ;p so last saturday i attended the au courant fashion bazaar, together with my booth partner rina from Avant la Mode. the crowds here were pretty awesome (: i met Fara from pixelovers and Shazlida from the merci store again from the last bazaar, and i met Farah Khairuddin and her siblings too (: it was pretty much an exhausting day for me, but fun! oh and thank youu to those who came and shop with us (:

as salam people (: i am so sorry for the late update (i know there're people who checked out my blog everyday just to see if i've updated anything so here my new update haha) last saturday i attended the retro & vintage sale party along with my friend intan syafiqah as vendors! this is my first time of joining such event.

as salam peeps (: how is your weekend so far? i hope everything goes well hihi. because mine is super awesome, well at least for today. i just got back from akar & kukubesi manipulasi event which was held at the shah alam art gallery. i'm not really an artistic person, but i love to see these artistic people reciting poems and singing meaningful songs. they are super duper talented, they should be famous and people should adore them! haha. oh, there was a photography exhibition, too, which feature famous and talented photographers such as kukubesi, annas easkey, eightyfourcube and so many more, you guys should go and see their artworks with your own eyes. they're superb!

the performances started at 2.30pm, but i went there late that evening, i only managed to see pesawat performed their songs. later that night, after maghrib prayer, they started performing again. it was so much fun to see those talented people performing, i think i should attend this kind of event again ;p i super love fynn jamal's performance, she was so energetic and full of emotions. i love it when she performed suatu pernah. oh and especially love it when she freestyle-ed with other performers (including geng rabak) and then there was wani ardy! i love love wani ardy! she sang four of her songs including teori lucu (:

as salam people (: in case you haven't notice, there's a trend of men, anonymous bloggers and non-hijabees bashing the hijabees on their respective blogs, saying that the hijabees are not wearing the hijab appropriately, in very vulgar words. i'm sure all of you had read it. take note of all the main points and improve.

this is my thought. life is a process of learning. when i was still in school, i didn't wear the hijab seriously. i wore it when i was in school. the next thing i knew, after i got back from school, i was not covering my hair anymore. i went to matriculation after that. still, i wasn't wearing the hijab. i was so hesitant and insecure, i thought wearing hijab will make me look uglier. at the end of matriculation session, my friend taught me how to wear the selendang. so i started to wear it, and naturally felt comfortable wearing it. i stepped in uitm in the middle of the year 2009, fully covered with a selendang on my head, but still not perfectly. as day goes by, i started to learn to wear the hijab appropriately. i started to cover my chest and neck, and wear loose clothes and skirts. and i'm still learning now.

you can see this kind of transformation around you, too. there are many of my friends who weren't wearing the hijab before, are wearing it now, insyaAllah appropriately. even the famous blogger sue anna joe wasn't wearing the hijab before, but she does now. the same goes to others like wardina, yuna and irma hasmie. there are plenty of examples you know, and do realize that we started with nothing, and slowly changing to a better person.

it is good for the hijabees to wear the hijab even if they aren't wearing it perfectly, at least there's an effort to follow Allah's will. for the respective bloggers to give an advise in such vulgar words, i think that's inappropriate also. i remembered back then when i wasn't wearing the hijab, ayung (my eldest brother) talked to me in a very polite way, saying that it is compulsary for muslimah to wear the hijab. he said, " adik ayung ni cantik, tapi kalau pakai tudung, laaaagi cantik" and i believed him. and look at what i've become now. i'm not sure i'll follow his advise if he was saying it in very vulgar words.

some says that most of the girl who wear the hijab nowadays are only following the trend.and people said, "baik tak payah pakai tudung lah kalau macam tu" i highly disagree. so what if they're following the trend? once, my wise friend said "biar kita mulakan sesuatu ibadah tanpa ikhlas, insyaAllah, kalau kita istiqamah, ikhlas itu akan datang dengan sendirinya." and you know it's true. at least i know it's true.

the problem is that the respective bloggers didn't even bother to put themselves in us, the hijabees shoes. they didn't even think about the ripple effects after they had posted such entries containing vulgar words to other people. what if there's a girl who isn't wearing the hijab, and is planning to wear one, but is afraid of what other people will think of her, reading this kind of entry? she'll freak out of course! saying that it is better for her to stay that way, fearing that other people will condemn her for what she is going to become.

i read all those comments saying, there's no need to wear the selendang and wrap it all around your head, you'll end up looked silly, or, "kenapa pakai tuala kat kepala ni? pakai lah tudung" (happened to me) i think it doesn't matter what kind of headgear we used to cover our aurah, whether it is selendang or a plain tudung bawal or whatever, as long as we cover our aurah appropriately, it is ok.

in case you didn't know, sue anna joe had came up with a campaign for the girls to wear the hijab accordingly. and this is something we should do for the sake of improvement, not by saying vulgar things on your blog.

chapter 11

as salam peeps. i just got back from home, safe and sound (: i'll be having my second paper on this upcoming 30th of april (where a fabulous garage sale will be held and obviously i can't make it)

the thing is, today, i commute to shah alam via ktm. and like other normal people, i won't mind struggling to enter the train just to find an available seat. i found a seat at one corner. (it's the ladies coach i was entering) next to me is a guy with his hair dyed. in my mind, i only thought of him as mat rempit or something (my first impression towards him, sue me) as i see he was wearing a jeans and a shirt, and like i said earlier, he dyed his hair.

then, an old chinese man came and sat right next to him. for a moment he just sat still. a couple of minutes later he stood up and started to walk away. i was like, what's up with him? takkan sebelah lelaki cina ni pun taknak duduk? racist gila (my second impression, oh go on just kill me) but then i realized that he gave up his seat for an old indian lady. i immediately felt guilty.he was so nice to gave that seat to someone who deserved it. and suddenly i realized that there was another old chinese lady standing behind my seat. so i gave my seat to her. the 'giving up our seat scene' does not end there. as we arrived at the pantai dalam ktm station, the old chinese man (who sat next to the man who dyed his hair) gave up his seat for a woman who was holding her child. such a kind-hearted man, i would say while others just don't give a damn.

there are two things i want to higlight here.

first is not to judge a book by its cover.
the same old saying i know, but look. it's normal to judge people by their appearance (in my case, at least) but then it's not fair for some (all) people. in my case, i never thought that a so-called rempit guy will kindly gave up his seat to the old folks while others who dressed so nicely didn't. for me, i wouldn't like to be judged by my appearance, too. i always did this, judging people. it's so wrong i tell myself everyday not to do that ever again. and here i am repeating my mistakes. bad pika.

the second thing is it felt so good to do good things towards others, you know.
if you never done that (which i doubt) try doing it. start with helping your mom at the kitchen. you'll feel some kind of feelings which you can't explain. and trust me, you'll feel good (:

oh and one more thing, please, if you think there are other people who deserved that very seat in the public transport more than you do, please just gave it up to the needy.

so, today i learnt my lessons. never judge people, ever and the good deeds you've done will make you feel happy (: hehe

btw, i'll be missing this two awesome events.

as salam people (: yesterday i went out with my two pretty bestfriends mas and ana oh my i miss hanging out with them (': it has been ages since we last met, me and ana. and it has been ages since we last hanging out together, the three of us.

i remember back then,
we used to hang around together after class just to finish up our biology report
we used to wear the same blue baju kurung and people looked at us like, 'what is up with them?' and we just couldn't care less
we used to break fast together at ana's house and had a so-called sleepover for a night
we used to hang around ana's room and watch movies and late for co-curricular class
people got jealous of us because we're close, we're cool and we're fabulous haha

after maghrib prayer, we proceeded to padang shah alam (orang shah alam tahu lah ni kan ;p )
brought everything we needed to just simply draw random things for fun heee

i can't afford a real polaroid. so i made one. using papers (:
you can make one, too. i'll teach you how (:

first, you'll have to have a piece of A4 paper. and not forgetting your colored markers or colored pens or coloring pencils (:
then, on that piece of paper, draw a polaroid. preferably of the (assumed) same size of a real polaroid. you can draw according to an example like a picture etc
next, color it. nicely (:
take a picture with it!

as salam peeps (: i think it's not too late to ask how was your weekend going kan? mine was super duper fun! i spent my weekend in malacca along with my darlings syida shukor and qurratu'aini. i was so much excited tau. moreover, qurra dah nak balik ke egypt so me and syida decided to meet her before her departure.

visiting jonker walk is a must while you're in malacca.besides, i love the environment of such places. oh and i love capturing picture in the middle of the crowds. hihi.

my darlings syida and qurra. it was super duper fun to spent time with you two. and thanks for reminding me that i still have bestfriends to rely on(:

attractions.it's a fun thing to watch all of these but i'm definetely not going to buy anything ;p

thanks to the vendors for the props for our so-called photo taking session in the middle of the jonker street.

i've told you i love taking picture in the middle of the crowds kan? tehee. oh fyi, i'm wearing my handsewn polka dotted skirt which i love hihi.

chapter 4

as salam people (: i just got back from the event organized by our very own multimedia club of computer and mathematical science faculty. it is a charity event where semua derma derma daripada hasil jualan tiket tu akan disalurkan kepada sekolah untuk kanak kanak cacat pendengaran untuk provide better facilities for that school. i went there primarily because my mastura izhar was going to perform. they did this cool choir of sign languages. i never thought it'll be such fun tau. student uitm shah alam kalau tak pergi event ni memang rugi. hihi

me and mas finally (: mas and her friends performed terlalu istimewa by adibah noor and stay by estrella using sign language! so cute!

my xml programming lecturer. she was the project manager for this event. oh and she told me not to post her picture in facebook. *kalau kat blogger boleh kan puan ;p*

i was hyper tadi sebab jakun baru nak belajar sign language plus mas was performing and she's so cute (: the kids were also performing, they almost made me burst in tears sobs.

oh btw, notice anything in this picture??

it's my hand-painted shoes yawww. baru petang tadi lukis lukis conteng conteng kasut tu sebelum pergi kelas mandarin. semangat nak pakai utk choir amal tadi hihi.

close up. actually kasut ni dah buruk. lepas tu bila lukis2 macam ni jadi boleh tahan lah. ini pun kerja tak kemas. oke tahu korang tak tanya. saja nak beritahu. tolong lah cakap kerja aku ni cantik tolonglahhh

so that's it. serious rugi siapa yang ada di uitm shah alam tapi tak pergi sebab event ni memang best. and jealous tahu tengok multimedia students perform macam tu. netcentric student ni tak tahu bila boleh perform. so plain boring heh.

as salam people (: how's life treating you?

so as you guys can see, i just got back from penang. my sister myra was attending her convocation day. yay! congrats myra (: all of us went to penang except for ayung and angah. but it's oke. the nine of us had caused so much headache to mak and ayah already!

the theme for myra's convocation day is turquoise *so much inspired by my former blog title turquoise and pink haha*

looking at those bouquet of flowers and gifts, i can't wait for my convocation day, too! three more semesters insyaAllah (:
